What to Include in Wedding Detail Photos

When going into a wedding/elopement day, detail photos are one of my favorite pictures to take. There is something special about the specific details couples intentionally chose. Each unique color palette, invitation, heirloom makes these photos about the couple.

But how do you pick the details that reflect your personal style as a couple? No worries, I got you! Here are the best tips for choosing what to include in your detail photos and a checklist.

1. Use Your Invitation

Use your save the dates and wedding invitations! These display the date, time and where you get married, important details when looking back on your photos.

Pro Tip: Give both the invitations and the envelopes to your photographer. The envelope adds a possible background layout when take your detail photos!

2. Personalize It

Personalization truly make your detail photos yours. Include pieces from throughout your day. Examples include…

Perfume, cologne, jewelry, shoes, vow books, family heirlooms, rings, necklace; the list goes on. For more ideas, scroll down to see a full list for you and your fiance.

Pro Tip: Put you ring and finance’s in one place so it’s ready to go.

3. Flowers

Flowers from your bouquet, boutonniere, florals from your day add pops of color to your detail photos! Florals tie your detail photos together, complimenting everything. Ask your florists to give you a few different types. This will give your photographer options to choose from.

For Couples

To avoid last minute stress, gather all your details the night before. Put them all in one place, a bag or box so when your photographer is ready for your details, you don’t have to run around searching for them.
