My why in photography
Why Photography?
When I first started photography, I knew deep down I had a passionate love for it but I really didn’t understand WHY I could do it for hours! You know that feeling when you love something so much and you wonder “Wait why do I?”
I thought well it must CLEARLY be because I’m adopted. I don’t have any photos from the beginning 4.5 years of my life. Not only that but I have no recollection of my young childhood memories and zero photos of what my birth parents look like. So to be able to deliver one of your most important memories (your wedding day) through a gallery, I knew THAT had to be my why!
However, It wasn’t until recently, the Lord presented to me the bigger picture of the “why”: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
My eyes were opened!
What an incredible blessing to photograph your promises to another! Marriage is sacred to the Lord, [“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24] The Creator of all creations formed every single person in His own image. Being able to be a witness to your love (God is love)…
“But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:8
“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” John 4:16
How could I not be passionate about capturing it??
Our Father: the true foundation of love. Joy. Nature. Marriage. And everything good! Through Him, I am simply an instrument to glorify His indescribable goodness. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.
None of this: the sunshine, friends, this business, any talent given; absolutely nothing would be possible without our Heavenly Father.
